Holding On Poem by Alice Cordy

Holding On

We are both holding on,
wanting our love to go forever long
yearning for the slightest touch,
waiting for that ultimate punch.

Even though we have been through so much.
Neither of us is holding on to a grudge.
We wish each other all the best
Right down to the our final dress.

No matter how far we are apart
we will always be in each other’s heart
We hold that special space
As we will always see within our faces.

Just promise that we won’t forget
How we met, which lead to my bouquet
Full of memories of jokes and laughs
As we followed each other on a path
Our life was and will be full of smiles
That will surely stretch across the Nile.

We have a friendship full of wonderful memories
That we will always cherish as our treasures.
We love each other in that special way
That no one can ever take away

So my darling Bud,
No matter who enters your life
I will love you more than any other wife.
