History Painting Poem by Thomas Kling

History Painting

landscape with patches.
a landscape with patches of cherry. a self
propagating landscape with ranges of hills.
one in which a royal alcoholic has his
personal chef stuck on the roasting-spit.
one where Hussites perish.
a Bohemian one in which Calixtids ('? ')
and Taborites ('? ? ') cut each other to bits.

landscape with patches of cherry.
one where stags trees and wasps
fall over. over which chains go under a gna-
shing moon. one in which a reich
protector dies of tatters of fabric in his
spleen. Patches. and, patches, one over
which chains go under gnashing moon. and
a landscape in which it will prosper again.
