Hired Rioters Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Hired Rioters

Claiming to defend,
Their entitled birthrights.
Hired rioters,
From distant suburbs.
Disturb those peacefully protesting.
Hoping to get,
Their injustices review.
Yet...
Suburbanites armed with weapons,
Begin an implementing to intend...
Igniting to invite,
A provoking of civil unrest.
Purposely to be captured,
Around the World.
Focused close up,
Everywhere as 'BREAKING NEWS'

These hired rioters,
In numbers are arrested.
Many of them have no reason or cause,
To protest at all.
But from their comforting lives,
Spent to resent...
A way of life they've been convinced,
Is being threatened by the ones...
Disenfranchised.
And oppressed to prevent,
Living their lives...
With rights unseen.
Are accused by those predominantly white.
Of threatening a way of life...
Found more appreciated by those,
Black, Latino, Asian and mixed.
Although not revealed in videos reviewed,
Are those white who sit...
In police stations seeking to be acquitted,
Of the crimes they commit.
Or the destruction permitted to perform.
To declare themselves not racists.
But protectors who have rights,
To deceive, lie, dupe and have believe...
Evil are those of colored skins.
Wishing the truth,
Be exposed as it is.
But this offends the deluded minds,
Of those who are white.
Given rights that entitles them,
To destroy the quality of life.
If they are seen as chosen to be,
The superior race.

"THEY ARE WALKING AROUND WITH GUNS.
THEY ARE DESTROYING,
OUR ESTABLISHED FOUNDATIONS.
THEY ARE LOOTING AND CREATING HAVOC.
AND 'WE' CAN NO LONGER HAVE IT! "

-And...
Exactly,
Who are THEY? -

"You know.
Them.
The ones we have portrayed,
As 'OUR' enemies."

-Oh.
Yeah.
That's right.
THEY.
The ones peacefully protesting!
