High On Liquid Love Poem by Luke Easter

High On Liquid Love

Smooth sailing in the river named Serenity,
Ushered by the laughter of summer infamy,
Peace surreal when it flows, right or wrong,
Quiet roaring thunder by a waterfall 40’ long.

Like a melody lingers from my favorite song,
Emerging far from my senses weak or strong,
I turn the faucet on and the water freely flows,
Time defying moments whether it’s hot or cold.

Oh, thoughts and imaginations quietly echo through,
Am I really, is this a dream, no way, it can’t be true,
Why not, simply a combo of the best of me and you,
Exuberance expressed in love, one is made from two.

The sun and moon, entirely different shades of light,
One beams bright of day; one guides a path @ night,
However, neither one alone can create an entire day,
Together forming the cycle shinning loves light rays.

I’ve seen the miracle of birth silent mother’s tears,
Saw the look on baby’s face and crying I did hear,
Held her or so gently before one word I could say,
Push all over again because another is on the way.

Not one but two oh my God twice freely blessed,
Hurry up second little one mommy needs to rest,
Light brown eyes so clear my precious baby girls,
Silky softness strands brunette swirling up in curls.

Allowed my thoughts to take me way back when,
Drifting loving memories of how it should begin,
A night so warm, a ring so bright, so soon a kiss,
But we knew right away the calling wedded bliss.

Sand was warm along the shore beneath our feet,
Can’t tell how or why the air smelled soft & sweet,
Calmness gave way to thunder wish I could explain,
Not the least bit concerned as love gave way to rain.

Captured by my mind’s eyes were the stormy waves,
Moving screens, still images, pausing another day,
With the nectar of an orange grove naturally sweet,
Birds atop every tree in harmony tweet, tweet, tweet.

Alas, the seasons change new flowers bloom and grow,
Some whither, some waver, only the Creator will know,
Our love together will ultimately stand the test of time,
Yes! Shall we once again manifest in unison of the mind.

Only a love that is liquid can surround and conquer all,
A constant force and thunderous roar, ala Niagara Falls,
Over moonlit shadows I saw them, an eagle and a dove,
Soaring above the rainbows I’m, “High On Liquid Love.”
