High Expectations Poem by Jack Dylan

High Expectations

Rating: 4.3

Consume me, and end this pain
Remember none of life’s strain
Cover my skin with numbness
Depression will succumb to us

Put an end to this recession
And forgive my confessions
For I will never forget
Trying hard not to regret

Your scent so enchanting
Lost in a dream, soul demanding
Escape from reality
A surreal mentality

Floating away out of this cave
A journey with God, some even say
Id is alive with hands on the wheel
Time is our debt, which no one can steal.

Careful, Jack, your gift is showing. Peeking out of the darkness. Great job!
