Crimson Pony Poem by Jack Dylan

Crimson Pony

Rating: 5.0

She arrived late one fall
Held together by classic charm
Plenty of love for me to install
Cleansing of steel could do no harm.

They all laughed and thought I was a fool
What do you know of vintage steel
Where will you find the skill, time and tool
I can’t explain intuition, just how I feel

Held together by mismatched parts
Layers reveal all the previous battles
Rotten and twisted, where to start
Tear it apart, becoming intimate matters.

Photographs both physical and mental
I see it all know, and smile to myself
It’s in my blood, a passion one can’t tell
Your beauty will be placed high upon a self

It’s all coming together piece by piece.
Each little detail perfect in every way
Shiny and new, hours of sweat transforms relief
Disarray takes form, hours at night and some by day.

I can’t wait to finish my masterpiece
To prove them all wrong would be spiteful
And then I will relax and sigh in relief
I’m finally me, where I belong and feeling delightful
