Hero Poem by madison ann

Hero

Rating: 4.5

She felt his pain from miles away
She figured out why the very next day
killed in battle across the sea
trying to be all he could be
she knew something happened when
... they pulled up the driveway
she had no words to think or say
now a widow with a baby on the way
her sky now black and foggy grey

The baby was born she had a boy
she named the baby Troy
and when he grew to be a man
He found his wife and took her hand
he joined the army to honor his dad.
his wife soon grew to be so sad.
for no letters or trace from Troy.
she feared tohe worse when the car pulled in
her head began to spin and spin

Out stepped a man with his hat so low
Its whose under the hat she needed to know
for under the hat was her dear sweet spouse
she grew so quiet as a mouse.

she ran to his arms and grabbed him tight.
it was indeed a magnificent sight.

she told him something he could have died for
he couldn't have asked for anymore.

she was having a baby a little girl his head began to swirl
9 months later lizzie was here
and when the time was near
they whispered softly in her ear

Lizzie o lizzie we love you so much
we love your hearts dear sweet touch
lizzie o lizzie stay right here
And lizzie o lizzie shedded a tear

dedicated to all those who have lost a loved one to the war or for those who have had a happy ending like lizzies
