Hero Poem by Josh Burnett

Hero

You tell me that you are so sad.
You don't think there's anyone at all,
And it hurts you so bad.
You just want to crouch up in a ball,
And miss everything you once had.
You sit with your head held to a wall.
The pain screaming out mad,
But I hope you hear my call.

I'm here standing out in front.
Trying to confront everything I am.
Trying to let you know.
I just want to be your hero.

You scream out in anger,
because of the pain they cause.
Afraid your love's in danger.
You dwell within your own flaws.
Afraid you heart will get ripped out by a stranger,
And you believe the time is lost,
And the precious twinkle in your eye is gone.

But I can stell see the diamond's shine.
Knowing you is so so divine.
It's like you walked right out of my dreams,
And my heart starts to gleam.

I'm here standing out in front.
Trying to confront everything I am.
Trying to let you know.
I just want to be your hero.

Another sleepless night.
Another pointless fight.
Trying to see the invisble light.
The fire ignites.
Knees to chest tight.
Trying to feel alright.

It's just another heartache.
You're feeling a little fake.
As you let them take,
And your heart begins to break,
But I'm trying to say.

I'm here standing out in front.
Trying to confront everything I am.
Trying to let you know.
I just want to be your hero.

The feeling's dead.
Running through your head.
Tossing on a cold bed.

Is it all a lie?
All you hear is bye.
You let out a sigh,
And begin to cry,
But I'll tell you why.

Because there's something better for you.

I'm here standing out in front.
Trying to confront everything I am.
Trying to let you know.
I just want to be your hero.
