Here In Valletta's Port Poem by Emmanuel George Cefai

Here In Valletta's Port

In the ancient west
There's an ancient moon
Arising

I
Here in Valletta's port
Here Zephyr speaking
To the winds
Telling them to blow
But civilly.

The trees, the bastions, stepped
Streets up and down,
Dilapidated unlived in houses
And palaces
And more and more
And more
This town a jewel of Europe be
This dusk,
already
There's
The familiar autumn wind arising.
