Here I Am Poem by Melinda McQueen

Here I Am

Here I am. I’m here.
Living? Or simply existing?
Bottled up fear
And yet, wishing.

Everything changes, yet stays the same.
This is real, and yet, it’s not.
The winds change
And birds find their spot.

Around and around the world goes,
And time renders not from moving forth.
Things known and unknown
Have their atlas of which they were born.

The past has a name,
And lives in my heart.
Past accomplishments, past gain,
Past sorrows, past hurtful dark.

To and fro it blows,
In and out it surrounds;
Its wind aware of its flow,
Encircling the very which it came to astound.

In my heart too
Is the hope for the future,
It lies somewhere deep - the unyielding truth.
Somewhere out there holds an existence so pure.

Here I am. I’m here,
Living as I believe.
Bottling up faith, keeping God near,
It’s He I long to please.
