Hercules The Spider Poem by Annette Aitken

Hercules The Spider

Rating: 5.0

Hercules the Spider

The spider that lives in my wing mirror
I've named him Hercules
for all his strength he has to use
to cling on tightly as I move
down the motorway as I zoom.

I stop off sometimes to go to the shops
gives him the time to re-secure his spot
with lovely intricate design
all his web is back in line

Ready for the returning trip
sits again with his tightest grip
until we're safely home again
where Hercules can relax once more.

Explores his web, makes sure it's in tact
before another motorway dash.

Yes, I have one too. Always on the driver's side, maybe it's because that side's nearest the hedge. Love spiders and I love this bright poem too. Great work, Annette.

Wonderful poem, it's amazing how spiders love these modern adjustable wing mirrors we have one in each mirror and one behind the rear number plate.
