Her Denial Cries Poem by Mark Rivera

Her Denial Cries

A mother who loves her son
Wonders why he became this way
Her denial cries
That damn school made him gay
But he knew that he felt this way
Long before he entered those halls
But her denial cries
And she refused to accept
That her only born son
Won't be giving her grandsons
That he is gay
And that makes him happy
But all she sees is a son
She hadn't pictured
When he first came home
And he screams, 'I AM GAY! '
Her denial cries...
This is just a phase

Mom I have to say that my being gay won't be going away and it's something you have to learn to accept- after all you gave me life.
