Heavily Bruised Poem by Melisa Peter

Heavily Bruised

THE CANDLE WENT OFF

Demolished benevolence clouted to resuscitate as abundance unbosom thine soulDemolished benevolence clouted to resuscitate as abundance unbosom thine soul,
Endurance mumbled in the hinterland to replevin thine lost loveEndurance mumbled in the hinterland to replevin thine lost love,
This twilight consorts feeble, fleeting, knitting thine soul above with sublime faux pasThis twilight consorts feeble, fleeting, knitting thine soul above with sublime faux pas,
'Cause not one or two but blinded sights of visions'Cause not one or two but blinded sights of visions,
'Cause not one or few but depleted nights of illusions'Cause not one or few but depleted nights of illusions,
Seeds of my missions impasse,
I still have questions..
I don't want you,
But I need an explaination...

I am enormously regretful that I had to admit that he departedI am enormously regretful that I had to admit that he departed,
I am utterly remorseful that I anticipated the best yet only got the worstI am utterly remorseful that I anticipated the best yet only got the worst,
I am tremendously apologetic that I had to assemble and wonder where I had gone off beam, I am tremendously apologetic that I had to assemble and wonder where I had gone off beam,

I had wakeful nights flinging and twirlingI had wakeful nights flinging and twirling,
Unmanageable sentiments, weeping and dismaying,
Excruciating thoughts, yelling and yelpingExcruciating thoughts, yelling and yelping,
And wondering if it is overAnd wondering if it is over,
Was it over?

I do not reckon I reciprocated on the doI do not reckon I reciprocated on the dot
As it took me a few blinks to wholly assimilate his actionsAs it took me a few blinks to wholly assimilate his actions,
In addition, you might admit, within me,
The connotation was such as to conceal an assertive degree of dejectionThe connotation was such as to conceal an assertive degree of dejection,
Who doesn't sense a segment of their heart ruptures at rejection? Indeed, why should I rebuff it? Who doesn't sense a segment of their heart ruptures at rejection? Indeed, why should I rebuff it?

COMMENTS OF THE POEM
Chinedu Dike 06 January 2015

Love is whimsical and temperamental, it comes when it pleases and goes away without warning. Accept and enjoy it while it remains, but spend no time worrying about it's departure. It's a lovely poem, well articulated and penned with insight in poetic diction. A nice piece indeed. Thanks for sharing and do keep it up. Please read my poem MANDELA - THE IMMORTAL ICON.
