Heaven's Gates Poem by Monica Rose

Heaven's Gates

Rating: 4.8

You will always be in my heart
Follow the path I lead to thee

Don't miscount a step
Or be lost without a heart

Closer and closer I get to
Heaven's Gates I await

Jesus greets me with a smile
He says to me 'You have come from miles'

Blessed be
To me

Golden sparkles embroiders the gate
Of Wonder and Awe I wonder what is there

Will it just be like home?
Will my friends be there?
Family?

Whom may know what lies beyond the gates
Of Heaven we know is in our hearts and souls

The Heaven's gates wait to be ajar
For another soul to enter thee.

Hey Monica, I completely agree with Katharine, it is a beautiful poem and a good use of Old English

A wonderful poem about what heaven may be like. I enjoyed these lines especially: 'Golden sparkles embroiders the gate Of Wonder and Awe I wonder what is there' It brings such a nice image to the reader's mind! Well done!

Hi Monica. Great poem... I find it a challenge to write about heaven because there is very little we know about it... But I think it makes it even more exciting.. To not know exactly what it will be like. I can't wait to get to heavens gates so Jesus will greet me with a smile. Thanks for writing this. I rate it a 10!
