Heartquakes Poem by Dwitun Basumatary

Heartquakes

The smiles which we carried for many moons
The icecold flames which burnt only the breaths
Golden breaths which embraced our own minds
to voyage up the rough yonder hillocks
like newborn crows, wings burnt black by the sun.

Even the rain proclaimed us a nomad.
As we streeted down the hills Oh a-free!
The streets that are voiced with many people
And nightrides up with the city below
stars and household lights trembles you a smile.

And as the lunar lullaby goodnights
We wait the Sunshine to unslumber us;
So that I can see the laugh in your eyes
And while away in the wild canopy,
In the starry night's scented vegetation.

The rain drizzling on those skyscraper leaves
Whispers till you dont care the real world...
Ev'n sober mind trembles those dark meimors
'Cos the last of your smiles crashed and vanished
Untill the paper moon is all that's left.

I watched; on my right hand there's nothing left
And on my left hand there is nothing right.
My small part in the theatre of your life
it's ended; and your still form floats elseway
To dance to the scorpion's forbidden tunes.

Untill the last of the koto string snaps,
The dirge shall wail till someone wails it back.
As the north wind misses his mountain lair
And fumes to howl in the forlone caverns
I flap my broken wings gently skywards.
