Tera Rising Poem by Dwitun Basumatary

Tera Rising

Ice gates, ice gates in the colder spheres
Came by around a maiden gatekeeper
Slender and elfy she breathed the snow;
Her snow covered head and red cherried lips
spoke of more distant heights and colder rocks.

There bloomed orchids as large as coconuts
phosporused trees and sweet scented mountains.
Yet no stairs nor elevators or else...
made its way around to the mossed plateaus
and quick rustling clouds in those rocky brinks.

Then the temple door rolled upward and lo!
Were horses dressed in scarlet and silver,
Temple walls jaggedly polished in black,
Floating lanterns and sapphire celings,
And inner gates studded with roses red.

Out the temple was etherial scape-
Rocky mountains mossed in dark green and blue
Mushrooms sky high, waving crystalline falls,
Red lilies, palms and sandy river floor,
velvet teaks and few further bluer peaks.20

Some where in those moss cushioned rock she lawned
almost hidden by youngster reeds, in peace.
Parapets stretched along the vining trees
And in the forested mountain sides hunged
Huge, long draperies fluttering in air.

Above her were blue orchids with fern leaves.
And distance halfhidden: a huge wing lay.
She rises up and flaunts away. Yams tall,
and slender; grew with flowers like bluebells.
Yes, You grew on hex editor, Tera.

To the empty court tower she headed;
thin blue skirt and alloy shield on her back.
How doest she come? me think she teleports
Or maybe levitates all the way here.
Stalking warrior towards the altar.

There's then this bridge made of huge pastted leaves
with slanting lamposts at the either rears
where she goes; meets a nightrider in boots.
Oh don't fall brother! She is a half craze!
She eats your kisses and smiles at your bruise.40

At the ocean gate warriors returns home,
Riding sharks in reed helmets and stone boots.
And the coast guards with arrows 9 feet long!
roasted strange sharks and stranger sea serpents
with firewood which are broken pirate ships.

The season seemed always autumn, azure.
The market is a cluster of bright tents
which sentinels guarded with great black swords.
Household cocrodiles drew the merchandise carts
Which were low and fast like tropical boars.

And Tera attired with bronze sandals
supervised the fire tower night-ready.
The Nothern Lights were visible to eyes!
as clouds piled up forever on mountains
and yet again mountains piled up on clouds.

Bunkers floated in sky; hydrogen gased.
While flying horses filled the empty sky:
A hybreed cross of eagles and horses.
Winged and eagle faced, brown maned and hooked hoofs
They had scimitars attached to their tails.60

Ladders stretched from a house to a treetop.
And below in the grasses warriors trained,
Tera too shuttling over a mustang
to gallop away to those yonder hills
where men wear chains but is everywhere free.

Elsewhere a tired flying horse swoops down
taking a drink from the river water.
Well trained for his rider the Fisher King,
And then to land far at the ice square
Beside some huge statue of a Wizard.

Then came flowered walls of the arena.
Wall tops statued angels with unspread wings.
Came Tera in purple, leather bracelets.
She begins to chant and then lights nucleared
behind her as she did begin to chant.

The moonlight bright bluish, sunlight unscorching
did shine those forests of greenish blue soil.
She wore seal leather, shield of rhino skin
and googles made of fussed dragonfly wings
Which the nightrider gave her far that day.80

There was high wooden gates at each household
as if to welcome the passing wind itself.
Berries blue-black twined the high pergola
while fruit trees stood away in greener slopes
Eskimo like cold in the waning sun.

A golden eagle swooped to nest in peaks
with a dripping flying fish for its young;
While an archer in a hay umbrella
has already eyed that sky predator
To someday capture it home for his young.

Here is a yatch carved entirely of ice
to fish out tither on colder snow caves;
Or to sport out on the nothern bowers
where the sea is the mount and the mount, sky.
Unless ravens' flight differentiates the three.

So a kingdom rose beyond the ice gates,
Where the sky is dim, the hills surreal;
cold, fresh, hidden, quiet, thoughtful and magic.
Masters of themselves; and all of the Know
Tera, you're rising; rise on in those peaks.100
