Heartbreak Poem by Ifeoma Idoko

Heartbreak

With a touch that melts my heart
I blush and try to fight
I hush because I do not want to feel stupid
This is infatuation with a complication
I am helpless, oh, I need a station
What is this?
Why is this?
Oh, I think I am in love with you.

You say you love me
You want me
I am your perfect crush
I am the only for you
The one that makes you laugh and cry
The one you want to have children with
Oh Oh Oh
I see sparkles in you eyes
These words put my soul on fire
This feeling keeps taking me higher
I am glad I found you

The sparkles are gone
Goodnight is said with a sigh
We hold hands no more
When you see me, you do not show a smile
All our laughter is gone
No no no
This can’t be happening to me
It is hard to accept that all that love is gone
As dead as a seed
Oh what pain I feel
Those days of joy and laughter
It is hard to ignore
You should not treat me this way
If birds flying south is a sign of changes
At least you can predict this every year
Love, you never know the minute it ends
My dreams have turned to nightmares
I pray hard and hard………you will not say it is over
Then it comes, the red lights

Heartbreak
It makes you feel like a woman without eggs
A tree without branches
An ocean without water
A bride without a groom
A city without people
A child without a home
A library without books

It lets you know that you have no one to
Run to for help
Console you when you are down
Be there for you when you need to talk
Hold you when you are falling down a hole
Hug you tight when you are mocked
Make your life worthwhile
Heartbreak……….a horrible experience

Very beautifully worded and the cause and the cure added. Heart breaks are moments of realisations, lessons taught with acidic taste, mistakes repeated treated with the weapon of unforgettable make.
