Heart For Sale Poem by venessa ambrose

Heart For Sale

Its in auction again,
My most priced piece of jewel,
The only crystal ball that is indefinite,
I want to sale it and yet keep it.

The merchant came,
Yet I could give my heart not,
For he came with glamour,
Piece of jewel and gold is all he had.

The scholar came,
Still my heart was mine to keep,
All he had to offer was wisdom,
A commodity I had in store.

The prince came,
And my heart I ache to keep,
A large promise of royalty,
Again the scale balances not.

Just then my choice comes,
As joyful cries fills its brim,
And my heart goes for it,
It was a Heart For A Heart.
