I see mama
I see papa
I see me
Granny sleep on floor
Mama shout to papa
Papa cry loud
Mama curse papa
I look my black leg
No shoe teisha tell me
Buy book he flog me
New uniform
White socks
I cry hard
I cry my eye out
I tell mama
I tell her what teisha say
She cry too
Papa come inside
She shout
Papa cry
I cry too
Teisha say I poor
Black and hungry
But he white
And have cloth
I run to room
I rub mama powder
All my body
I white
Yet no cloth
No shoe
My hair black
Mama see me
She cry
Papa cry
I cry too
