He Is Fastened Poem by GORDON GILHULY

He Is Fastened

Rating: 5.0

the future postponed

by an eternal present:

your leaving lives on

the anesthetizing jar

the callous cruelty of loss

he is fastened to

the pain: pinned to the mounting

board of this parting

abandoned, searching for the

last beat of his own lost heart
