He Doesn’t Know Me Poem by Bethany King

He Doesn’t Know Me

He doesn’t know who I am
Or what I am about
Where I was born
I could have sworn

He knew everything
But I was wrong
When I asked the question
He fell strong

Asleep he went
Without an answer
Made me realise
He couldn’t chance her

How is this the way
To make a future
All I can say
Is what did I see in the picture

I thought you new me
But I was wrong
Your snoring shows me
Maybe we don’t belong

It brings me to tears
That you don’t know
Where I was born
Or did I love Beau

Where was I born?
Where did I live?
Have I ever mourned?
How could I forgive?

What’s my favourite flour?
Where’s my favourite place?
Can I look over a tower?
Do I want to learn base?

Do you know me?
I think not
This held the key
Our love had the lot
