Have you ever wished upon a star
only to see it fall?
Have you ever had a friend in need
and your name they did not call?
Have you ever listened to your heart
but pretended not to care?
Have you ever reached out to a soul
to find there wasn't one there?
Have you ever needed a shoulder
to give you strength to carry on?
or lost in a world of confusion
and felt you didn't belong?
If so my friend, the road you walk
may appear too long and steep,
All the bridges you have burned
cross rivers much too deep.
For time will never heal the scars
soft tissue still remains,
Go slow my friend, for no love
can ever stop the rains.
