Happy New Year! Poem by Larisa Rzhepishevska

Happy New Year!

I’ll put on the table a New Year tree,
The smell of pine needles will fill my flat.
Champagne, chocolate…and I’ll start my spree,
With three candles I’ll chat.

These candles will be my spiritual world,
The lonely party is always free.
My heart will be twirled and purled,
Curse of troubles these candles will be.

With champagne I’ll fill the crystal glass,
I’ll say many thanks to the old year.
You were generous but you’ve passed,
Now I’d like to say: “Good bye, my dear! ”

I will never forget you my old friend.
You’ve given me so many wonderful days
I’ve managed to overcome all troubles
I’ve happened to see beautiful rays.

Exactly at twelve I’ll make a wish.
I won’t ask for a golden fish
It will be my heart and soul agreement,
It will be my life’s equipment.

As anyone I would love to be happy.
As anyone I would love to dispel all doubts
To be always merry and cute,
To be out of danger and crazy shouts.

I would like a success enter everyone’s door
I would like the loved ones always be near.
HAPPY NEW YEAR!
In the New Year everything should be clear.

Meet the New Year with a kind smile!
Don’t curse our sinful Earth!
Let the New Year be peaceful! Be agile!
Remember the day of Jesus Christ birth.
