Happy Days Poem by Linda Engwall

Happy Days

Rating: 5.0

Happiness sometimes peaks out
When I least expect it
For I have come to expect
So much less from my life

Aware some days the reality
It is only me
Who holds onto this ever so tightly

Conscious that if I had the sense
To look beyond just me
It really could be so simple
Finding that I should expect happiness
More often than not

We create our world, so small
Ruled by thoughts running in our head
The should of’s
The could of’s
The wrongs done

Yes, probably all true
But where does it get you?
A life filled with anger
Hate
Envy

When the spectrum for all life is so wide
Filled with adventure
Dreams
Love
Happiness
Only held back
The small world we have created in our mind

Finding that we should expect to have
more happy days than not
