Siblings Poem by Linda Engwall

Siblings

Rating: 5.0

What does it mean
To go through my life
With all of you by my side
Even when you are not physical nearby

I know that you will be there
In any way you can
To aid me your family
It really does not matter how that looks
To the other folks

I do know that without you people
My life would have turned out a lot different
Of this I am certain
Alas I do not have to worry about that
You are the silent anchor that exists for me

Could it be the unspoken life
We have all experienced
That ties us to each other
That I cant really know

When I think of each of you
I know
This is true
It has always
Come down to
You and me
Sharing more
than a mother or father
We are connected
To each other
In a way
That will stand time

Of this I am certain
I am more than just your sister
We share more than a past
That is fraught with pain
I hope you know that
there isn’t anything
I would not do for you
my sisters and brothers
