Hands Poem by Babatunde Alimi

Hands

If I were magic, I would ask your hands to sway me in motions.

If I were Jordan, I would slam and dunk your sorrows into a ditch of Oblivion.

If I were a craftsman, I would soil those fingers in the earth and sculpt you in red.

If I were Joshua, I would caress my knuckles and knock out the teeth of your enemies.

If I were D'Rock, I would slam haters to the wall till they ache in the skull.

If I were love, I would reside in the castle of your heart and never leave.

If I were a bender, I would bend the world to fall at your feet.
