It snowed all day long
A snow covered St.Patrick's day
No green to parade.

Just days away from spring
Winter's last breath is heavy with snow
Palladium earth greets the spring.

Like an unkind master
It inflicts pain with ice and sleet
Life bears and blooms iridescent.

Haiku Form

It snowed all day long
On this St.Patrick's day-
No green to parade.

An unkind master
Inflicts pain with ice and sleet
Life iridescent.

Days away from spring
Winter breathed its last breath on
Palladium earth.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
In my two weeks of stay at Colorado I saw from light to heavy snow. Some twenty inches of snowfall inspired these haiku. Though they do not meet syllable count still all are expressive of nature's beauty.
After some editing I have been able to get the correct syllable count also without compromising the essence.

A brilliant haiku on winter and spring has been so touchingly and thrilling delineated. I cite....Just days away from spring Winter's last breath is heavy with snow Palladium earth greets the spring. Thank you dear madam for sharing this gem.10

Season changes like this life which crosses three stages. Perhaps each season has its own importance. Why does it happen so. It is tough to understand the mystery of nature. Hi we can feel and realize the changing seasons of our lives.

Spring is here and the last snow in New York and Massachusetts reflect the scenario captured in Colorado. You put it beautifully in your haikus - no green to parade.
