Grounded Poem by ted de Hallam

Grounded

I need to feel grounded but 1st floor's O.K
'Cos sometimes there's tigers beneath where you lay.
But up on your platform, you're safe, snug, away
From life's dangers, secure, time to play
Games, fun, e'en sexual, tingling, warm
And time passes wondrously on until dawn.

But up any higher I'm frightened
And ground's not my friend anymore
So if I've a prayer in this life evermore
Oh! God, if it pleases,1st floor.
