Grip Of Waves Poem by Caroline Godwin

Grip Of Waves

Surrounding her and pulling her under
The blue depths take over
Forcing her to do as told
Making her believe everything said
While tightening the hold
She lets the colors take over
Control her every move
Soon she is not longer a girl
But a women of the waves
Floating silently along
Enjoying everyday
But one day she wakes up
And these waves come crashing down
The perfect world created for her
Will no longer drag her down
She breaks free from the hold
Of your beautiful baby blues
Never again will she be
Lied to, cheated, or used
