Grey Days Poem by Colin Ian Jeffery

Grey Days

(Coronavirus)
Grey days come and go, colouring heart and mind
Lock-down against virus spreading world-wide
People wearing face masks, fearing infection
Food delivered from supermarkets ordered online
Never seeing family and friends, self-isolated
Days merging into the same grey routine
Fearfully walking down a long dark tunnel
Seemly without end and welcoming light
Wondering if life will ever return to normal.
Has the virus come to stay with mutating threat?
Never repealed and always ready to strike?
Depression floods the mind, overwhelming
Relentless virus tide that cannot be prevented
Mental health in peril with shrouding grey days.
