Greater Content

What greater content we could have had
had we not looked back
in the Renaissance
to an art that fed on the blood in the Colosseum;

And what greater content might we have
if we don't look back
to a free trade
that gorged on the slave.

A telling comment on free trade and a good play on the word 'content' too. M. Walker.
