Grandpa Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Grandpa

Grandpa

Doubtlessly
If questioned
“Where’s dad or husband? ”
You will say “He left us…”
You may add “For no cause.”

You know well that’s not right.
Have I said: “They hurt me deep to bone.”?
I have not and will not.
“They are nice. They are hurt by the time…”
I explain and honest.
I may count the reasons
I may count the causes
(And they range
Many things among them my mistakes)
But never will I judge.
I won’t guess, don’t create.

I have said many times
I repeat till I die:
We must talk.

You tell me your reasons
Then hear what I’ve got.

Sure I can! But will not!
I won’t write one sided.
I love you and want you
To know that, be aware.

Decision is all yours.

Think of words for your child
They’ll be cute when they ask:
(Mom or Dad)
“Tell me more; of your mother and your dad.”
