Grandma Poem by Marilyn Lott

Grandma

Rating: 5.0

She raised her kids alone
From the time her husband left
Life was hard for grandma
But she truly did her best.

She raised those kids with morals
She taught them how to pray
She taught them how to work hard
To plan for a brand new day.

She worked in sunny orchards
Her baby by her side
She knew the pain of loneliness
But took it in her stride.

The years went by for grandma
Her children grew up strong
They knew the pain of struggling
But she taught them right from wrong.

She became confused and difficult
From an illness quite unknown
Poor grandma forgot who people were
Could not be on her own.

She died not knowing where she was
Perhaps with silent fear
But I'll remember her with loving thoughts
A lady so very dear.
