Grandma’s Delicious Cookies Poem by Marilyn Lott

Grandma’s Delicious Cookies

Rating: 5.0

How I remember Grandma’s cookies
As I came into her home it was nice
To smell the fragrance of them in the air
I detected chocolate, oatmeal and spice

Warm and gooy on my tongue
I would close my eyes for a moment
Because they tasted so very good
As sweet as a fresh-made jelly doughnut

And during the holidays, of course
Grandma would always mix ‘em up
I would sit and watch then taste them
With fresh cold milk in Grandma’s cup

To be able to observe this wonderful lady
Brought such a warm sweet emotion
And to add the food that she cooked so well
I felt such total and loving devotion

As I look at wonderful old pictures
In our worn family album from a chest
It’s almost like I’m sitting once again
In Grandma’s kitchen that I loved best!
