Grand Illusions Poem by Dean Meredith

Grand Illusions

Lust invites you in
But it's love
That shows you the door
Whether you're finished
Or not

Her eyes lure you in
But it's her smile
That makes you stay
Right or wrong
She's hot

Unreal expectations
Set you free
Her as well
Complications go
Life too

Her absence
Becomes you
Wise and forlorn
The movie plays
But you are gone
