Goodnight Poem by Daniel Trevelyn Joseph

Goodnight

My daughter goes to sleep,
Puts off the light in her room,
Even when I am still awake,
Without taking leave of me.

I go mostly to my wife,
Open the door of her room,
And say ‘Goodnight’ to her:
As one ages, roles change.
