Goodbye To Life Poem by jason zas

Goodbye To Life

My phone rings
I hear tears running down her face
A whisper asking for help is all I could hear
She lays in bed, motionless
Her heart is beginning to slow
She gathers every ounce of energy left
She tells me she loves me and is sorry for everything
I hear her brother in the distance screaming
Crying out for help
At that point I realized she has done what I had always feared
But it was too late
The bottle of medicine was now empty
flowing through her veins like a ticking time bomb
I set the phone down
Tears start falling down my face
Replaying the final words she spoke to me
Realizing my best friend just said goodbye to me for the last time
I will never see her smile
I will never hear her voice
And I will never feel her soft lips on mine again
My best friend just said goodbye
Goodbye to life

Wow I really don't know what to say, nice work with words. Hits close to home, thank you.
