Goodbye Lullaby (Not Quite Finished) Poem by Olivia Braun

Goodbye Lullaby (Not Quite Finished)

A thousand confessions that go unheard, floating through the air like a lost bird
The words that hang so heavy in the air, to be lost forever with no ears so hear
Take a breath tastes the tears… So much loneliness in so few years
Wounding around, what else could be here? Misplaced child enveloped by fear
But rest your head and drift away to a better day…Close your eyes for I have a lullaby

Fall asleep and rest tonight, let all your fear subside
Never feel alone for I am by your side, close your eyes and let your dreams come to life
And though you dream of distant lands with open arms

You wake to no such fate…nothing but hate
Pushing past everything till at last you find nowhere else to go
So come to me, for a heart that no longer beats can longer break
I can take you away… a never ending dream
For the moment you stop breathing you can start living
For you see this empty life has nothing left…So go now take your final breath
Sleep little child now you’re dead, cold and alone in your bed
The sound of yelling and hurtful things is now but a dream

Such a sad lullaby… Ending with goodbye
Falling into dark… leaving everything behind
What could have been…You’ll never know

I know this poem still needs some work...bare with me
