Goodbye Poem by Bibie Ramtu

Goodbye

So much pain, so much agony
What such suffering you brought
I couldn’t take it no more
To what fame did it bring you?
To what authority did it give you?

Though I had impugn in this love
There was still something
Something inside me that told me
“Keep on going, caulk your broken love
Your porous love not to let in impurities”

Times I had conceptualized of having
Someone to help us through
But it crossed my mind, no gain in that

We were conflated in one week…
A week of happiness, a week of love
But see, we are shattered in a moment of time
Shame brought upon us, upon our beloved
The purity of our love has faded

To bring us as one will take a lifetime
No more suffering will I accept in my life
No more blame game, no more lies…
Goodbye
