Good Night Poem by Siri Atluri

Good Night

Rating: 4.5

Good night, have a good night.
A whisper goes all round the place
For it is the night,
When everything is so peaceful.

The darkness is like a calming blanket,
That covers up the miseries of day.
It puts you to sleep
And wakes your imagination up.

Sometimes the night becomes wild,
Just like a playful child.
It thrusts about the trees
And splashes water of the seas
Just like a child who glees.
The darkness sheds tears and brews into a violent storm,
just like the crying child’s tantrums.

The stars twinkle like diamonds,
spread upon a dark blanket.
The moon smiles from above,
like an old uncle full of wisdom.
the sky plays hide and seek’
with the stars at night.
Everything glows in a light,
that is not so bright.

Suddenly the birds are chirruping
And the trees start creaking as if stretching while waking up
The first rays of sun pierce the horizon.
But don’t be let down that the soothing blanket is fading away
For the dawn breaks on us full of hopes
