Gone, My Heart - Poem by Eleonor Santiago

Words like river freely flow anytime
In metric in rhythm and rhyme
Heart pours and mind blows
the verse reached a thousand shore

oh days I caressed each lyric my hand made
oh years I danced in the celebration of friends and romance
oh but whence the verse were gone
It hurts my heart I found them in someone

I trust that all has a good heart
To celebrate with me and pour confetti
But Alas I was left alone the thief roamed
my lyrics was owned by someone fool to be known

Hence I stopped and hid from the crowd
The poems I shared now seems dim and down
The music are heard only in my mind
The rhymes I utter now seems phased out

While a plagiarist can jump high and loud
The artist now back to his old hammock
Singing the songs only to himself
Shouting his heart his lips are no more found

Doomed may the plagiarist for looting the writes
Prayer that my soul can find it's pieces of art
Not to trust not to let go of the heart
This is the feeling of a broken heart

When shall I start sharing what's mine
When shall I paint the words of art
When shall I trust the world full of crap
Whence I pray soon speaks my heart

Poetry is the only wealth that a poet has and having it snatched is a very painful experience indeed! I can easily identify myself in this poem. Thanks for sharing it and congrats on being poet of the day! (Report) Reply
