Gone But Never Forgotten

Gone But Never Forgotten

You had always been there
no matter what,
Everything you could have
done you did the lot,
The fun we had and the
joyful times we shared,
The love you gave me I knew
how much you cared.

From my birth till death
we had been together,
Memories I will cherish
forever and ever,
For all them years you
had been to me,
A foster dad you
will forever be.

If tears could build a stairway
and memories was a lane,
I would walk right up to heaven
to bring you home again,
No farewell words were spoken,
no time to say goodbye,
You were gone before I knew it
and god only knows why.

My heart still aches in sadness and
my secret tears still flow,
What it means to have lost you
no one will ever know!
