Going Home Poem by Luise Carmen

Going Home

He asked me if I wanted to go
And I said I wasn't sure
Why do I have to go there
When I've done this all before?
It's cold there and I'm frightened
Then he took a step forward
He pulled me closer to him
And said to me
To know Grace
You've got to know the fall
For in doing so you know
That Grace is part of you
You understand more fully
That Love and Light is you
And with that understanding
You become a teacher and a guide
To all those who wish to know Her
And uncover their own Light
Don't be afraid he told me
As I let out a nervous sigh
I was there for your birth
And I shall be there when you die
All throughout life's hardships
And all throughout your pain
I'll be there to guide you
And hold your hand time again
When your heart is broken
And you think you can't go on
I'll be there to soothe your soul
And encourage you to voyage on
Whenever you're alone
Just call to me in prayer
I will never ever leave you
Because I love you and I care
With that he was gone
And I found myself alone
Contemplating my journey
That is supposed to be back home
But home is where the Light is
Not where we are born
And this I shall remember
Before I decide to return
That one day before I know it
I will be journeying back home
Reunited with my angel
Heart brimming with love
