God Minds Poem by Naveed Akram

God Minds

God changed my mind, He blessed me with His Angels,
Forgave me while I weeped, for repentance is my keep,
It is my prayer for the unruly who sleep tonight tonight.

I gave my word of doctorly care, and dreaded the response,
Professors of the many-sided triangles conferred like animals
Of the day and night, forgiving my examinations and tests for life.

God deemed the failure in me once my foot was my foot, and enemy
Took enemy by the throat, for friend was friend tonight tonight.

It is my invocation and my supplication that deems the words of right,
Time still argues when the lateness is considered, when acts of vandalism
Suppress the dreams of our neighbours, the dreams of the nights.

Howl to the music of our life, arguing is the fresh one, sales of messages
Confront me in my sleep, one day it rains and the other day it vanishes.

God caused me to sleep and converse with sounds of the ocean,
Dreams are there, dreams speak where you call the waves of conjecture.
