Giving Birth Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Giving Birth

Giving birth

In my childhood universe I heard:
“Fatima gave birth.”
And the story was wild.
She did not know, had no pain.

In my childhood universe I wondered.
My sister cried, shouted my name for help.
When baby was aborted,
Fatima had no pain!

Every universe is born and every universe dies.
My childhood universe died.
In my mature universe
Memories of childhood cosmos remained.

“A woman gave birth in plane.”
The news said; I read:
'I said to her, 'Did you not feel anything inside? '
'No, every once in a while I felt gas or rumblings in there'
But there was a baby.

Vertigo, dizzy and confused
I read:

“Is it possible to not know you're pregnant at that stage? ”
“I do not want to buy.
“It is hard to miss.”
'Actually funny.”
“Obesity feels a lot like being pregnant.”
“This Couple may have psychological issues.”
“Bull...they knew.”
“Another Hollywood strike”

Where am I, in which of my worlds?
Childhood universe, which cosmos?
