Give Me One More Breath Poem by Silence Dogood

Give Me One More Breath

Rating: 5.0

Bring me back from death.
Give me one more breath.
Give me my life let me cry.
Just dont let me die.
Let me hang on dont push me away.
Let me keep breathing let me stay.
I wanna keep my soul.
Stay in control.
I dont want to see my family cry.
I dont want to have them see me die.
I want to keep living just so they smile.
I want to keep my life for a little while.
Let me come back from the dead.
Change my grave into a bed.
Get rid of the roses give them back their tears.
They dont need the pain or the fears.
Give them their wish come true.
Let them see me as they use to.
Bring me back from death.
Give me one more breath

This is absolutely stunning. The realness of a person's last wish not to die, but to be alive, so her family doesn't cry or have the fears of the dying person's soul, just grabs at the heartstrings and pulls them until we cry. This is such a sad poem, full of reproach and the actual fear of dying. But if we believe in our Lord Jesus, then we need not fear the loss of physical life, because our soul lives on in Him. Thank you for sharing this very passionate plea not to die. Stay strong Kyla, because it is in our strength that we can heal. Hugs, Barbara
