Gift Etiquette Poem by Ima Ryma

For Christmas I got a fruitcake
Sent by an ex boyfriend of mine,
And so for good etiquette sake,
A thank you note I did design.
I wasn't really sure about
His motivation sending me
A kind of ho hum gift no doubt,
But, polite I wanted to be.
Politeness also should include
Giving a gift for gift received,
And so not wanting to be rude,
This short thank you note I conceived,

'I thank you for this gift, I do, '
'And am regifting back to you.'
