Get On With Your Life Poem by Francis Duggan

Get On With Your Life

If tomorrow I will not see the light of day
Get on with your own life I will be okay
And though success in my life I do not have to show
I've had a good innings as good innings go.

Get on with your life that is all you can do
In your time of need you have friends to turn to
You have people who love you and for you who care
And your friends for you they will always be there.

Get on with your life for me why would you weep
And over me why lose a half an hour's sleep
My one wish for you is you get on with your life
For somebody else you will make a good wife.

And why waste your tears on one who is dead
Go weep for the poor of the World instead
The dead past all cares and the life from them gone
And your biggest test then is to keep on keeping on.

If tomorrow the light of day i will not see
Do not waste your energy on grieving for me
From the cares of life I'll have found a release
And just leave me to Nature for to rest in peace.
