George Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

George

George

For him, I searched and heard:
- "Was shot down, when in air! "

How I wish he had not!
We could have good long talk.

Were three when chosen
-to fly to US
-for becoming pilots.

Ended in San Anton
-he and I went to town
-meant to go for a walk.

Both new, unaware
-walked around and aimless
-felt the looks and stares like needles.

A car passed with two girls
-one drove but both waved
-we took it half hearted…

They went and came again
-and signaled fiercer
-till stopped, we got in…

He sat by driver;
-lucky me, shared seat with
-angelic passenger…

"Why have you grown nails? "
-I looked and questioned her,
- "For defending myself…"

I grabbed both her hands
-hid in palms, and then asked:
- "And now what? "

She was sharp in reply:
- "With my legs will kick out! "
-turned crabs my legs, thighs.

"And now what? "
- "I will shout…"
-heard her sigh…

My lips felt duty
-to seal hers with a kiss! "

I gave her what she sought
-but never said it loud!

She calmed down; so did I.

After while, both of us
-drunk with taste of mouths
-were relieved, changing minds.

She wanted to know me,
-where from, what to call.

Felt ashamed and guilty
-turned sinner by lying:
- "I am George! "

Promised future
-was fog, disappeared.

I kept this a secret
-till that day…

"I know that you are George! "
-said friend…harsh like bore.

Explained in detail
-all of what had happened.

"You lost good girlfriend…"

I learned our difference
- (Devilish, innocence.)

She had meant what she said;
-my body and brain said: "Flirt."
