Genuine Apology Poem by Cynthia Buhain-baello

Genuine Apology

Promises on bended knees
Sweet loving words to hear
Do not bring marriage bliss
Nor make the bond more dear.

Diamonds on some rings
Dinners by candlelight
Red roses, wine, and things
Do not make infidelity right.

Diversions from the Mrs
By a husband gone astray
Will soon blow up her fuses
Apologies wasted away.

Actions must prove sincerity
And commitment with no lies
Forgiveness demanding change
Without it, that's compromise.
